Emerson's Work
Ralph Waldo Emerson was one of many influential transcendental writers. He wrote a series of essays talking about his beliefs, as well as several books. Emerson however, often contradicts himself within his writing. By stating his opinion of the moment, it changes frequently. This is just an after effect of the transcendental thinking of living one's life in the present, and being a published writer, is changing opinions were always documented. Despite his changing view, Emerson is still one of the authorizes in transcendental philosophy.
Nature: An analysis of the passage:
The passage depicts Emerson's feeling of nature being divine. That it's beauty is almost unsurpassable. However, he also says that in the mind of the beholder, the beauty and majesty can be lessened or greatened by one's own opinions. That seeing the same landscape after a wedding, or after a funeral makes its appearance different. That a mans thoughts can change even the most magnificent sight, into ash and rubble.

The passage is portraying a core transcendental belief. That one's own thoughts should be, and are, the only laws that matter. Emerson says to follow the passions of one's own mind is genius. He says to always say one's opinion without thought of the repercussions, because there is no better truth than that.
